Bookpresentation (A)

For our Application and Evaluation course my group "Blub" and I chose to read the book "Start-up City." This book is written by Gabe Klein. The book is about how urban transportation systems have significant impacts on climate change, socioeconomic mobility, and public health. The book advocates for proactive governmental transformation and future-oriented policies, naming innovations like 3D printing, renewable energy, and virtual reality meetings.

Walkin Hoogkerk (C)

During this course, we had to select an area in Hoogkerk to transform. With the knowledge of Hoogkerk from the first period of the Urban Regeneration minor in mind, we chose a strip in Hoogkerk that runs from the library (The Forum) in Hoogkerk to the lake in Hoogkerk, the "Ruskenveense Plas." Our main theme was "Social Harmony." By implementing a green strip with something for all ages, we aimed to create an area that would be attractive to everyone, making it a lively place in Hoogkerk. With our draft product we organised a walk-in in front of the Alberthein in Hoogkerk. To gather feedback on our design. It was hard to gather feedback, lots of people liked our idea, there were some small changed that we could make.

For the our presentation about our final design we made a video. This video highlights the problems of hoogkerk and explains how we were able to solve these problems with our individual design and the design as a whole.

Reflection/Evaluation (B/E/F)

During this project we had a lot to go through to get to our final design, by getting feedback from the citizens and our teachers we learned to look at our locations in a different perspective. In the document below i summed it all up.
